Home visits are provided for those who are too ill to attend surgery. Visit requests should be made before 11am, to allow the doctors to plan their visiting schedule for the day. The doctor may need to telephone you back, so make sure you leave a contact phone number.
On Mondays one doctor does most of the visits in the morning, although some may be left until after our staff training finishes at 2pm. On other days visits are done either around lunchtime or early in the afternoon, depending on the doctor's other commitments.
Requests for urgent visits and late requests for visits are handled by the on-call doctor, who will usually want to speak to the patient or their carer.
Please be considerate in asking for a home visit - the doctor can see 4 or 5 people in the surgery in the time it takes to do one house call.
